In both pieces, there is a sense of cluttered and claustrophobic space, endlessly extending structures, and impossible structures. The Man on the Rack and The Pier with Chains, representative examples of I Carceri, both contain large cavities of space and gigantic pillars, buttresses, walls, and arches. 14 These pieces represented unrealistic architectural structures that have little to do with actual prisons. In I Carceri, Piranesi explored the possibilities of perspective and spatial illusion while pushing the medium of etching to its limits. ![]() ![]() The only reason any of this exists is because the letters are symmetrical. ![]() but not for long, because there's nothing to say. Let's just call that my unofficial Retirement Day, because once you've seen this theme *three* times, well, that probably means you've been writing about New York Times Crossword Puzzles long enough. I look forward (read: absolutely do not look forward) to seeing another one of these "rotational symmetry" gems in. I was recently chatting with a friend who told me that no one in her family knew that "bug" was a term for "coding problem." Every time I see this word in a puzzle I lose my mind and revert back to a sixth grader talking about a p*nis and I am like "Will Shortz why did you put a p*nis in my puzzle?" Sorry for talking about this but I needed y'all to know. I also didn't love how this entry was crossed with BELLA when the clue used the term "Belle" but that's a nitpick for sure. for BETE - There is an excellent restaurant I go to called Bar BETE, so my first thought was "Why didn't they write a clue about that restaurant?" Then of course, I remember that basically no one except me would know that lol.It displays an intentional "lack of maturity and responsibility" by comparison to the darker and anthemic nature of Born This Way. Indeed I recently started to use a shell called nushell which is a pretty powerful yet simple cross-platform shell. You can find on Stackoverflow some posts like this one that show different solutions using bash that work perfectly but I thought it would be interesting to try to script that using another shell. Now we only need a script to associate output and input of these two commands in order to automate the deletion. We know how to identify the outdated branches but we need a command to delete them which is the git branch -D command. These branches correspond to the outdated branches we want to delete. The command git branch -vl (which lists in a verbose way the local git branches) gives us an interesting view as it shows the branches for which the remote has been deleted specifying a for them. If I take my blog repository as an example I have a bunch of branches: some that could be useful (articles I have started to write but did not finish yet and I don't know if I will one day □) and some that are already merged into my master branch through a PR. But as it's Azure DevOps which took care of merging them (sometimes with a squash) I cannot use the git branch -merged command. Git commands to identify and delete outdated branches.Īs my outdated branches are already removed from my remote (thanks to git fetch -prune) it should not be too complicated to use some git commands to guess which branches are not useful anymore. ![]() Nevertheless, this does not delete the local version of the feature branch thus our problem: over the time if we do not think of deleting all these outdated branches, they become too many and we don't even know which branch should be kept or not. Once that done, I can do a git fetch -prune on my laptop to have the feature branch removed from the remote of my local repository (by the way, I recommend you to directly set the fetch command to prune by default in your git config □). When a pull request is approved and we decide to complete it, Azure DevOps takes care of automatically merging the associated feature branch into master and deleting it from the repository. However, each week we are creating a lot of branches that need to be deleted as once merged we no longer need to have them. These practices allow us to keep a good quality in our code base, not to mess with our git repositories and ensure the main branch always build.

But the Apple Pencil costs $70 more than the Adonit Dash 4, so there’s that too! It ultimately comes down to your budget and why you want a stylus. I also feel that the Apple Pencil is much better for artists because it has pressure-sensitive line widths, and doesn’t draw wavy straight lines. I have no problem recommending Adonit styluses, but having said that, I can’t help but prefer the Apple Pencil because it’s just more convenient to carry with the iPad and charge. I especially like that it has a mode for newer iPads that adds palm rejection. The Adonit Dash 4 stylus is well made and works well for writing. : Adonit Dash 3 (Black) Universal Stylus Rechargeable Active Fine Point Digital Pens Compatible with Most Capacitive iPhone and Android Touch Screens Cell Phones, iPad, Tablets, Laptops. The Adonit Dash 4 stylus is a stylus that can be used with iPads and Android tablets but doesn’t require you to goof around with Bluetooth pairing. Almost all old S Pens work with the S21 Ultra. But is there a cheaper alternative to the Apple Pencil that still offers a great experience on the iPad? The Adonit Dash 4 stylus was offered to me to try and today I want to show it to you. Of course, the Apple Pencil isn’t as simple as those capacitive styluses from days of yore. However, this stylus is the most expensive option on this list at 129. To do this, I needed a stylus, and I splurged on an Apple Pencil. Also, it only works with specific iPad models, so be sure your device is compatible before purchasing. I wanted to journal on the iPad and draw on the iPad. Not many hard details have been released, but we'll find out more this fall. Meta has also teased the Meta Quest 3, which is a $500 standalone headset with better specs than the Meta Quest 2. It's really expensive, though, and whether or not developers support it is a big question mark. It seems technically impressive, with at least iPad Pro-level hardware and features like eye-tracking and iris-scanning. Apple just announced the Vision Pro, a $3,500 AR/VR headset scheduled to come out early next year. ![]() There are two more major headsets to look forward to further down the line. They also support PC-tethered VR with an optional cable. They lack a dedicated gaming PC's processing power on their own, but their high-end mobile processors (especially the Quest Pro's Snapdragon XR2+) push detailed, smooth graphics. The Oculus/Meta Quest 2 and Quest Pro both use similar outward-facing cameras to the now-discontinued Oculus Rift S to provide 6DOF motion tracking, and similar 6DOF motion controls. Standalone headsets offer the greatest physical freedom by completely removing the cables and not requiring an external device to handle processing. The least expensive tethered options are currently around $400, and that's before you address the processing issue the HP Reverb G2, Valve Index, and Vive Pro 2 need powerful PCs to run, while the PS VR requires a PlayStation 4 and the PS VR2 requires a PlayStation 5. Either external sensors or outward-facing cameras provide full 6DOF (six degrees of freedom) movement tracking for both your head and your hands, thanks to motion-sensing controllers. Their cables makes them a bit unwieldy, but putting all of the video processing in a box that you don't need to directly strap to your face means your VR experience can be a lot more complex. Tethered headsets, such as the HTC Vive Pro 2, PlayStation VR, and Valve Index are physically connected to PCs (or in the case of the PS VR and PS VR 2, a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5). ![]() Modern VR headsets now fit under one of two categories: tethered or standalone.
There are still some unanswered questions about Ibble-Dibble, though, like why a game this dumb was featured on The Crown to begin with. The game ends once everyone's sick of playing. As ibble-dibbles start to rack up dibble-ibbles, there's a lot more to keep tabs on-and alcohol-induced brain fog certainly doesn't make it easier. They must then take a drink and try again. If someone makes a mistake on their turn or is called out for pausing to think, they receive a dibble-ibble on an unmarked part of their face. The challenging part comes when someone messes up or hesitates too long. The game isn't too hard at first because nobody has dibble-ibbles, which is easy to keep track of. It'll sound something like this: "Number three ibble-dibble with no dibble-ibbles calling number six ibble-dibble with no dibble-ibbles." In this case, number three called on number six, which means it's number six's turn to go next. They'll begin by identifying themself and stating the number of marks on their face, then they'll call on another player and identify the number of marks on that player's face. Now the game can begin.ĭecide who goes first. If you're number three, for example, you'll now be referred to as "number three ibble-dibble." It's important that you take mental note of everyone's number.Īs soon as ibble-dibbles are numbered off, one will need to blacken the end of a cork by lighting it on fire, letting it burn a bit, and blowing it out. Someone will go around the circle assigning each person a number. When ibble-dibbles are ready to play, they should grab their drinks and gather in a circle so that every person is visible. There are two important terms you should know before you play: "ibble-dibble" and "dibble-ibble." Ibble-dibble is a silly way to say "player." If you're playing the game, you're an ibble-dibble! A dibble-ibble, on the other hand, is a mark you stamp on your face with a blackened cork whenever you mess up the flow of the game. ![]() Luckily, we don't need to get in touch with the Queen to understand the rules: Ibble-Dibble is a very real drinking game and once you've deciphered the gibberish, it's pretty easy to comprehend. ![]() The difference between the no-nonsense Iron Lady and fans of The Crown, though, is that viewers got a taste of the nonsense and wanted more. ![]() Approximately 16 minutes into the second episode of The Crown Season 4, the royal family plays a wild parlor game that leaves the newly elected prime minister Margaret Thatcher-and viewers-dizzied beyond repair. |
